Automatic Savings
With Automatic Savings, you can automatically transfer funds on a regular basis into your savings accounts! Pick a special name for the account, and a Member Service Representative will help you assign the name. It’s a great way to segment your savings and keep track of your progress building your nest egg, saving for your child’s education, or putting money aside for your next big purchase.
You can set up Automatic Savings for yourself or for a family member. Here’s how it works:
- A NEFCU Member Service Representative will assist you with opening and naming your account. Or, use an existing account - you can transfer into most types of accounts, including Share, Share Draft, Power Account or Future Saver.
- If you would like a unique name for the account, tell the Representative what you’d like to call it - for example, “Rainy Day Fund,” “College Fund,” etc.
- Go to PC Banking. (Click for information on signing up for free PC Banking.)
- In PC Banking click on "Automatic Savings", then choose "Scheduled Transfer" to schedule the amount and timing of your automatic savings: monthly, weekly or bi-weekly.
That’s all there is to it! And you can change the scheduled transfers you have set up at any time.
To give your account a special name, come into any branch or call TeleBranch at 802-879-8790 or 800-400-8790. To set up scheduled transfers without re-naming your account, go to PC Banking, select "Automatic Savings" and click on "Scheduled Transfer".
